One of the tools of the hairdressing trade that is not commonly seen anymore is the hair crimper. This is mostly due to the fact that hair crimping has become less popular than a lot of other techniques out there. However, do not throw out that hair crimper yet because there are ways of creating cute hairstyles with the crimping iron.
One of these styles is achieved pretty simply. All one needs to do is scoop the hair back into a ponytail, leaving a few strands hanging down. Twist the ponytail up so the top looks like a fountain flowing on the head, and then use the crimper on the strands that were left down. If one is feeling like they want to do something a little different, have the hair streaked different colors, and only crimp the colored pieces.
Crimping is also very good if one has very thin hair and wants to give it the appearance of being thicker. Since no one wants thin, flat and lifeless hair, crimping could still be considered one of the best solutions to that problem. It’s less time consuming than curling because the client doesn’t need to figure out what curls to use, or how to create volume and texture within the hair.
Although crimping has been popular since the 80s, and has seen a down turn in the popularity of the style, there are many styles that are popular now – which crimping can be incorporated into. You can use a combination of waves and curls within the style, as well as using crimping while creating Updos through the ends of the hair to create a funky and textured cute hairstyle.
